CAUSEWAYGT targets industrial and large commercial customers that have facilities that use heat in the temperature range of 50ºC to 150ºC and in the capacity of 5 to 30 MW. A typical customer company, representative of many sectors, will have multiple facilities like this.
Most industrial companies currently get this heat from combustion, mainly of fossil fuels with some biomass. Our example customer emits more than 2 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent each year. It’s also a large cash cost to our potential customer, spending more than $0.5 billion a year on fuels alone. The people they supply, their investors and the regulators are all demanding that our potential customer decarbonises their operations and products. There are tens of thousands of potential customers around the world.
CAUSEWAYGT‘s integrated geothermal energy system will be cost competitive with the fossil fuel predecessor AND deliver the required heat with 10 times less the emissions.
Example target sectors, serviceable using CAUSEWAYGT‘s energy services and products.
> 20TWh of energy used each year to drive their industrial processes.
> 2 million tonnes of CO₂ annually from burning fossil fuels for heat.
The customer is spending >$500 million annually on energy for their industrial processes.
The CAUSEWAYGT Solution
We deliver a local energy solution from our integrated closed-loop geothermal system.
CAUSEWAYGT’s integrated energy system has 6 main components:
Industrial heat pump to boost local geothermal heat
Managed “steady-state” geothermal heat flow
Efficient transfer of geothermal heat to the surface
Optimal return temperature and phase of fluid
Enhanced conduction into the closed-loop system
Use of heat

CAUSEWAYGT‘s technological approach to renewable energy is distinct and disruptive.
We start with the customer need and ensure that demand is fully understood and optimized. We then assess options for how that heat requirement can be delivered with renewable energy. Our goal is that all energy supplied is used or recycled.
We are biased to electrification, particularly using clean electricity to deliver renewable heat. By using the power of industrial scale heat pumps – proven, off-the shelf technology – we both increase the temperature and amplify the power of the geothermal heat harnessed from under the customer’s facility. By letting clean electricity do this work on clean heat, CAUSEWAYGT’s solution is radically lower in its carbon footprint and can be deployed in many areas around the world.
We are focused on using closed-loop geothermal wells to harvest the heat. This allows us to deploy in different geologies and many more areas with minimal environmental impact. Integrating subsurface science and engineering from our backgrounds in oil & gas with new ideas and components, we deliver sufficient heat and the required temperature to the surface.
A searing focus on customer needs. Using renewable electricity to boost lower temperature geothermal heat. Harvesting that heat in smart, efficient ways. That’s the CAUSEWAYGT approach.
